Bread for the Journey
Every Wednesday, 12:00pm
Every Saturday, 12:00pm
Our food ministry is closed for July and August so that we can work on our kitchen and make connections with new food sources.  We look forward to welcoming you back to eat, cook and volunteer with us in the fall.

At Flatbush Reformed Church we believe that we are called to care for one another, we are called to make sure that our neighbor does not go hungry. So in response to the need in Flatbush, we serve two, free, hot lunches every week; one on Wednesday and another on Saturday. Both meals are served in our Church House which is located behind the sanctuary and adjacent to the cemetery. Wednesday lunch is served upstairs and Saturday lunch is served downstairs in the gym. We strive to serve healthy and delicious food in a safe and welcoming setting. All are welcome!

Bread for the Journey

Volunteering in our soup kitchen

We don’t just enjoy having help in our soup kitchen, we NEED help in our soup kitchen! It is a lot of work serving roughly 200 people per week, but it is also really fun. No specific knowledge or experience working in a kitchen is required, just a willingness to work with others in putting together a good meal. Come in between 9 and 10am on a Wed. or Sat. and join us.

Hosting a Meal

What is better than getting together with good friends and cooking a big meal?! Getting together with good friends and cooking a meal at Flatbush Reformed Church! We love to have groups come and make our kitchen their kitchen. We welcome schools, organizations of all kinds and faith communities to choose a Saturday or Wednesday in which they prepare and serve a meal. For more information on how your group can host a meal, contact Rev. Cheri Kroon at
